Novol N91395 N-Range Dart 500 – Multifunctional Fast-Drying Putty, 1.0 Litre
The Novol N91395 Dart 500 is a high-performance, two-component (2K) polyester putty from the premium N-Range series. True to its name, Dart 500 is engineered for maximum speed and efficiency in the body shop. It is a "multifunctional" filler, meaning it combines the high filling power of a structural putty with the smooth finishing qualities of a fine glaze.
It is specifically designed for technicians who need to move from filling to sanding in record time, making it the ideal choice for high-throughput environments and "Rapid Repair" centers.
Key Features & Benefits
- Ultra-Fast Curing: Reaches sanding hardness in significantly less time than standard fillers - typically ready to sand in 12 - 15 minutes at 20°C.
- Multifunctional Application: Capable of filling deep dents (up to several millimeters) while leaving a surface smooth enough to skip the fine-filling stage.
- Superior "Soft-Sanding" Properties: Formulated to powder off effortlessly. It does not "clog" sandpaper, which extends the life of your abrasives and reduces physical labor.
- Excellent Adhesion: Bonds aggressively to a wide range of substrates without the need for specialized primers:
- Bare Steel and Aluminium.
- Galvanized (Zinc-coated) Steel.
- Polyester Laminates (Fiberglass/GRP).
- Old, sanded 2K paint finishes.
- Creamy Consistency: Easy to mix and spread, allowing for a "bubble-free" application that minimizes pinholes.
- Low Linear Shrinkage: High-grade resins ensure the repair remains stable and doesn't "sink" or show an outline after the vehicle is painted.
Professional Application Guidelines
- Surface Prep: Sand the repair area with P80–P120 for bare metal, or P180 for existing paint. Clean thoroughly with Novol N65503 Silicone Remover.
- Mixing: Mix a small amount of putty with 2-3% of the red cream hardener. Stir until the color is 100% uniform. Note: Because it is a "Fast" putty, the pot life is shorter; only mix what you can apply in 3–5 minutes.
- Application: Apply with a flexible spreader. Use firm pressure on the first pass to ensure the putty "bites" into the sanding marks, then build the required shape.
- Sanding: Once cured (test with a fingernail; it should click, not dent), start shaping with P120–P150 and finish with P240 before moving to primer.
