Novol N90013 Classic Premium CSR Clearcoat – 2.5 Litre (3:1)
The Novol N90013 Classic Premium CSR is a high-performance, two-component (2K) acrylic clearcoat belonging to the Ceramic Scratch Resistant (CSR) family. This 2.5-litre unit is designed for automotive refinishing where a "showroom" depth of gloss must be combined with extreme surface hardness.
Engineered with advanced resin technology, the CSR coating offers a "self-healing" tendency against micro-scratches and superior protection against the environmental stressors that typically dull standard clearcoats over time.
Key Features & Benefits
- Ceramic Scratch Resistance (CSR): Specifically formulated to resist fine scratches from car washes, abrasive dust, and general wear and tear, maintaining a "new car" look for years.
- Ultra-High Gloss & Clarity: Delivers a deep, mirror-like finish that enhances the metallic flake and color depth of the underlying basecoat.
- Superior UV Protection: Contains advanced light stabilizers that prevent yellowing, fading, or "chalking," even under intense, direct sunlight.
- Excellent Flow & Leveling: The clearcoat "lays down" exceptionally well, significantly reducing orange peel and the time required for flatting and polishing.
- Chemical & Weather Resistance: Highly resistant to bird droppings, road salt, fuel spills, and industrial fallout.
- Easy Polishing: Despite its extreme final hardness, it is designed to be easily polished shortly after curing to remove any trapped dust nibs.
Application Pro Tips
- The Correct Hardener: You must use the dedicated Novol 65161 CSR Hardener. Using a standard acrylic hardener will compromise the scratch-resistant properties and final gloss of the N90013.
- Mixing Accuracy: Use the Novol N39699 3:1 Measuring Stick. CSR resins are chemically precise; an incorrect ratio can result in a finish that remains tacky or becomes overly brittle.
- Environment: For the best flow, apply in a dust-free environment between 18°C and 22°C. If the booth is hotter, consider a small addition (5–10%) of Novol N65511 Thinner to prevent dry spray.
- Curing: While it air-dries, CSR clearcoats benefit greatly from infrared (IR) curing or a low-bake cycle (60°C for 30 mins) to achieve maximum surface hardness quickly.
Why Choose Novol Premium CSR?
Standard clearcoats often look great on day one but lose their luster after a few months of washing and road use. The Novol N90013 is an "investment" clearcoat. By providing a harder, ceramic-style top layer, it ensures that high-end paint jobs - especially on dark colors like deep blacks and blues - retain their mirror finish without the spider-web scratching common in softer paints.
