Novol 34342 Acrylic Topcoat – Satin Black (500ml)
Restore that factory-original "low-sheen" look with the Novol 34342 Acrylic Topcoat. This 500ml aerosol provides a sophisticated Satin Black finish, sitting perfectly between a flat matte and a high-reflectivity gloss.
It is the go-to choice for automotive trim, engine bay components, and interior metal or plastic parts that require a durable, professional-grade finish without the blinding glare of a full gloss.
Key Features & Benefits
- OEM Satin Sheen: Delivers a consistent, 20–30% gloss level that perfectly mimics the original finish found on wiper arms, window surrounds, and grilles.
- High-Quality Acrylic Resin: Unlike cheap hardware store paints, this automotive-grade formula offers superior color retention and resistance to fuel, oil, and weathering.
- Excellent Opacity: High pigment concentration ensures full coverage in fewer coats, saving time and preventing "run" risks.
- Rapid Drying: Reaches a dust-free state in just 10–15 minutes, allowing for faster reassembly of exterior trim.
- Hard & Scratch Resistant: Once fully cured, the film is tough enough to withstand the mechanical wear of daily driving and car washing.
- Universal Nozzle: Features a precision spray tip that provides a smooth, fine mist for a professional finish with minimal "orange peel."
Professional Application Strategy
Satin finishes require a steady hand, as "wet" spots can lead to uneven gloss levels.
Application Steps:
- Preparation: Clean thoroughly with Novol Plus 780. If spraying over old paint, scuff the surface with a Grey Ultra-Fine Abrasive Pad.
- Priming: For best results on bare metal, use an etching or epoxy primer. For plastics, always use Novol Plus 700 Adhesion Promoter.
- Agitation: Shake the can vigorously for 2 full minutes. The matting agents in satin paint settle at the bottom; if not mixed well, the finish will come out too glossy.
- The Spray: Hold the can 20–25 cm from the surface. Apply 2 to 3 thin, even layers. Allow 5–10 minutes of flash-off time between coats.
- Finish: Do not buff or polish satin paint, as this will increase the gloss level and ruin the effect.
Expert Insight: Satin Black is incredibly forgiving. If you have a panel with very minor surface imperfections, the low-reflectivity of this 34342 topcoat will hide them much better than a high-gloss black would.
