Novol 310003329 Cobra Multi-Purpose Coating – Black (600ml)
Step up to industrial-strength protection with Novol Cobra, a premium 2K polyurethane resin-based textured coating. This 600ml unit is designed for those who need a "tough-as-nails" finish that resists scratches, solvents, and extreme weather.
Commonly used as a truck bedliner, Cobra is equally at home on off-road chassis, utility trailers, and industrial flooring. It creates a rugged, semi-matt black barrier that provides both mechanical defense and significant sound-dampening properties.
Essential Component: The Hardener
This product is a two-component (2K) system. It cannot function alone.
- Required Hardener: N310003334 (200ml)
- Mixing Ratio: 3:1 (600ml Cobra: 200ml Hardener)
- Activation: Pour the 200ml hardener directly into the 600ml Cobra bottle, shake vigorously, and you are ready to spray.
Key Features & Benefits
- Extreme Durability: Highly resistant to impacts, abrasions, and deep scratches.
- Chemical Shield: Protects against petrol, oils, water, and road salt - perfect for underbodies and load areas.
- UV Stability: Formulated to resist chalking and fading, even under constant direct sunlight.
- Sound & Vibration Dampening: Thick, textured film reduces road roar and cabin rattles.
- Adjustable Texture: Achieve anything from a fine plastic-like grain to a heavy, rugged "mountain" texture by adjusting your spray equipment and pressure.
Professional Application Strategy
The texture of Cobra is "dialed in" using your spray gun settings:
- Coarse Texture (Standard): Use a UBS (Schutz) gun at 3–4 bar pressure.
- Medium Texture: Use a conventional spray gun with a 2.5mm nozzle.
- Fine Texture: Dilute the mixture with 25–30% polyurethane thinner and use a 1.4mm–1.8mm nozzle.
Steps for Success:
- Prep: Sand the surface with P120–P180 and degrease thoroughly with Novol Plus 780.
- Base Layer: Never apply Cobra directly to bare metal. Always use an anti-corrosive primer (like Novol Protect 360 Epoxy) first.
- Application: Apply 2 layers, allowing 45–60 minutes of flash-off time between them.
