Novol 33109 Gravit 620 - Metal Joints Sealant (1kg)
Ensure your vehicle is watertight and rust-free with Novol Gravit 620. This 1kg tin is a professional-grade, brush-on seam sealer designed to replicate the durable factory seals found on automotive body panels.
Based on synthetic rubber and resins, Gravit 620 is specifically engineered to seal overlap joints, welds, and pressure-welded spots, providing a permanent, flexible barrier against moisture, salt, and environmental debris.
Key Features & Benefits
- Superior Elasticity: Once cured, it remains highly flexible, allowing it to withstand the natural vibrations and chassis flex of a moving vehicle without cracking or peeling.
- Non-Drip Formula: The "thick" consistency is optimized for brush application; it stays exactly where you apply it, even on vertical or overhead surfaces.
- Excellent Adhesion: Bonds powerfully to bare steel, aluminum, primed surfaces, and old, sanded paintwork.
- Paintable: Can be overcoated with any acrylic primers, 2K topcoats, or clearcoats, allowing you to hide the repair seamlessly.
- Anti-Corrosive Shield: Effectively "deadens" the area and prevents the capillary action that draws moisture into overlapping metal sheets.
- No Brush Marks: Specially formulated to flow slightly after application to eliminate unsightly brush streaks, leaving a tidy, factory-like finish.
Professional Application Strategy
Seam sealing is the final line of defense before painting. Follow these steps for a permanent seal:
- Surface Prep: Clean the joints thoroughly. If you are applying over bare metal, it is highly recommended to apply a 2K Epoxy Primer (like Protect 360) first for maximum rust protection.
- The Tool: Use a stiff nylon brush (often called a "seam sealer brush") to work the material into the gaps.
- Application: Spread an even layer over the joint. If you want a specific "brushed" factory look, pull the brush in one continuous motion along the seam.
- Thickness: Do not apply excessively thick layers in one go. If a very deep seal is needed, apply in stages to allow the solvent to evaporate correctly.
- Painting: Wait at least 1 to 3 hours before applying your topcoat. If the sealer is still very "soft" or smells strongly of solvent, give it more time to avoid paint wrinkling.
Expert Insight: Gravit 620 is perfect for floor pans, boot (trunk) floors, and inside engine bays. Because it stays flexible, it acts as a minor sound deadener, reducing the "tinny" vibration noise in large metal panels.
