To determine if you have a failing shock absorber, you can carry out a visual inspection by observing for discolouration at the top of the shock which may indicate a leak. Alternatively, you can check the distance between the four corners of the vehicle and the level ground, if one corner has a lower resting point, you more than likely have a failing shock. You can also push down on the suspected area, when pressure has been removed, the vehicle should bounce up and return to its original position stiffly, without continuing to bounce. We recommend that you should have your shock absorbers inspected every 50,000km.
