To ensure that you get the correct fuel pressure sensor, If more than one sensor is shown, it is best to check the size and shape of the one currently installed so you can compare with the listed pressure sensors. Some important information for selecting the correct sensor is the type of fuel required, fuel mixture formation, sensor fitment position (low pressure/ high pressure side) and date limitation of the unit. As car manufacturers regularly update certain peripherals and design of their models, some fuel pressure sensors will only be suitable for particular models of certain years.

As the fuel pressure sensor sends information about fuel pressure to the on-board computer, this is then used to adjust the vehicle’s fuel and timing. When the sensor has an issue it can cause problems with the performance of the vehicle. Usually a bad or failing fuel pressure sensor will produce a few symptoms that can alert the driver to a potential issue. Some of these symptoms include; Diminishing power, engine warning light, hard starting, poor fuel economy and stalling. To avoid running in to these symptoms, we recommend requesting a maintenance test on the sensor as part of the next routine servicing.
