Helpful Tips

Helpful Tips
When a vehicle's Air Flow Meter is faulty or defective it can cause a variety of problems, and usually results in very poor performance from your engine. A faulty Air Flow Meter will cause problems similar to low compression or low vacuum and will also show symptoms similar to when your vehicle has low fuel pressure from a faulty fuel pump. Some of the most common symptoms of a faulty Air Flow Meter are difficulty starting the engine, stalling shortly after starting, engine hesitation when under load or idle (hiccupping) and excessively rich or lean idling. Diagnosing and replacing the Air Flow Meter is typically a ‘Do It Yourself’ job however, if you are unable to fully determine if your Air Flow Meter needs a replacement, by taking it to a qualified mechanic, computer diagnostics can be carried out to outline if the Meter has reached its end of life. We recommend having the meter inspected at each servicing interval. For more information.
