Your vehicle’s engine is a delicate combination of components, relying on a sophisticated network of sensors and structures to regulate its proper functioning underneath your bonnet. If one piece develops a fault, it can affect the performance of your entire engine. Throttle position sensors are a great example of this, as they work in conjunction with the throttle body, accellerator pedal, air flow meter and lambda sensors to relay data to the ECU all of which is required to ensure peak fuel efficiency and engine performance. A faulty throttle position sensor (or TPS as they are sometimes known) can cause all kinds of issues, from a car that simply won't start to reduced fuel economy.
