Novol N90621 STP Flex Sprayable Sealant – Black, 290ml
The Novol N90621 STP Flex is an advanced, silyl-terminated polymer (STP) hybrid sealant designed for high-precision automotive body repair. This 290ml cartridge is the professional choice for sealing overlapping joints, welded seams, and floor pans while perfectly regenerating complex OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) textures.
Unlike traditional polyurethane sealants, STP Flex offers superior UV resistance, faster skinning times, and a massive 10-day window for overcoating without the need for sanding.
Key Features & Benefits
- Advanced Hybrid Technology: Combines the mechanical strength of polyurethane with the flexibility and weather resistance of siloxanes.
- OEM Texture Regeneration: Specifically engineered to be sprayed using the Novol 90538 STP Gun to replicate factory-specific "dashed," "stippled," or "beaded" finishes.
- Isocyanate-Free: Safe for the user and the environment; it does not irritate the airways or skin during application.
- Exceptional Adhesion: Bonds instantly to bare steel, galvanized sheets, aluminium, 2K epoxy primers, and existing sound paintwork.
- Wet-on-Wet Coatable: Can be overcoated with waterborne or solvent-based basecoats almost immediately after application (once a skin has formed).
- Extended Chemical Activity: Uniquely remains chemically "active" for up to 10 days, allowing you to paint over it without mechanical scuffing or sanding.
- Vibration & Sound Damping: Provides excellent acoustic insulation, reducing road noise and harmonic vibrations in the cabin.
Application Pro Tips
- Gun Setup: For professional spray textures, use the Novol 90538 STP Gun. For standard seam beads, any high-quality manual or pneumatic cartridge gun will work.
- Nozzle Customization: To match specific brand finishes (like the wide ribbons found on BMW or Mercedes-Benz sills), use the Novol Butterfly Nozzle.
- Temperature Range: For the best flow and adhesion, apply when the ambient and panel temperatures are between 15°C and 25°C.
- No Sanding Required: As long as you paint within 10 days, the topcoat will bond chemically to the STP Flex. If you exceed 10 days, a light scuff with a grey abrasive pad is recommended.
STP Flex vs. STP Flow: Which one?
- STP Flex: Thicker and more stable. Choose this for precise seams, vertical joints, and reproducing specific bead patterns.
- STP Flow: More fluid. Choose this for large-area protection (like wheel arches or underbodies) where a flatter, anti-gravel "orange peel" texture is required.
