Radiator fan clutches are an integral component of your car’s cooling system. The fan clutch is responsible for varying the speed of the fan used to regulate engine temperature. If engine temperature rises beyond the designated amount, the fan draws in a high volume of air to cool it down quickly. When radiator fan clutches are not functioning properly, cars may overheat. Malfunctioning fan clutches can also be the cause of symptoms such as acceleration problems, drops in engine power and lack of fuel efficiency. Look to repair or replace your radiator fan clutch if any of these signs emerge.
