Constant velocity (CV) joints are a drivetrain component commonly found on most modern vehicles. They transfer power from the vehicle’s transmission and differential to the wheels in order to drive the vehicle. CV joints have a greased flexible joint that allows the axle to flex according to road conditions, with minimal effect on power delivery. When CV joints begin to fail, there are some tell-tail signs: excessive vibration when driving, loud clicking noises when turning and grease on the edge of the tire.
