Overview

Exide EL700 EFB Stop Start Battery 096

Exide Starter Battery

Spot A Weak Battery

Spot A Weak Battery
A car battery provides the jolt of electricity needed to power all the electrical components in your vehicle. When you have a weak battery, your car ends up putting additional stress on healthy parts. These parts can malfunction because they’re drawing excessive voltage to compensate for the lack of battery power. Watch out for signs like warning lights flickering, electric window issues, and noticeably slower cranking (car starting).

Exide Batteries

Exide Batteries
Exide Premium batteries for cars and commercial vehicles deliver highly concentrated energy, high capacity, and high starting power - all combined in the same battery. Great advances in manufacturing processes and outstanding materials quality has allowed development of a battery with extended product lifetime compared to standard batteries.

When does a car battery need to be replaced?

A battery should be replaced before its charge capacity drops to the critical level. Over time, a battery loses its capacity or ability to hold a charge. One day, a weak battery will not be able to start your car. Often, this happens when the weather gets cold. When the battery is too weak to turn over the engine, the car will need to be boosted to start. This is a key indicator that the battery capacity has decreased and it's time to start thinking about a replacement.

How long do car batteries take to charge?

A dead car battery takes between 4 to 24 hours for a full charge, depending on how many Amperes (amps / Ah) your car battery is charging with, and the size of your battery. The most common rate for car battery chargers is around four amps. To fully charge the battery of the size 52Ah would take about 10 hours from dead to fully loaded, but you would probably have sufficient charge to start your car within 1 hour.

How long do car batteries last?

Let’s assume ideal conditions: no high temperatures, no excessive humidity – in short, a perfect world for your car. Under these conditions, you can probably expect your car battery life to be about six years. On a more realistic average, a car battery lasts between two and five years.

Can the battery capacity be tested?

Yes, the battery capacity is often measured in CCA or Cold Cranking Amps. The battery tester can measure the actual CCA and compare it to the new battery CCA rating. A battery tester can also test the alternator and the charging system. Battery testers are available for sale from MicksGarage.com and are simple to use.

How can you make car batteries last longer?

Drive longer distances frequently, keep your car at a neutral temperature, and give it a good clean. It’s important to look for corrosion on your battery. You can even clean the clamps with baking soda, water, and a nonmetallic brush. Invest in a battery maintainer, to help you keep the battery alive during those crucial winter months. Batteries should recieve a top up charge every six weeks in order to be healthy, but excessive charging could actually shorten its life. A battery maintainer will help to monitor the battery voltage and automatically adjust the charge to avoid under and overcharging it.

Never allow your Battery to go dead again

Never allow your Battery to go dead again
With the Battery-Guard and dedicated Battery-Guard Phone App, you can now check your batterys' state of charge quickly and easily.
