I can&#8217;t think of any comparable cultural phenomenon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-2glH7hsqBh8\/UQe_Bo-2r3I\/AAAAAAAAAwI\/Vpnzo2USC0M\/s1600\/075bbb2095e76cd308b16d03a368eef5.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"178\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-2glH7hsqBh8\/UQe_Bo-2r3I\/AAAAAAAAAwI\/Vpnzo2USC0M\/s320\/075bbb2095e76cd308b16d03a368eef5.jpg\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<p>There is no comparable pressure cooker in the entire media world, says ad critic, media consultant and humorist Bob Garfield. &#8220;It&#8217;s like borrowing money from your father-in-law,&#8221; he says. &#8220;The implications of not paying him back are unthinkable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Equally unthinkable: failure on the world&#8217;s largest ad stage.<\/p>\n<p>The shared goal of Super Bowl advertisers is to become multimedia darlings with ads that not only get the thumbs up from millions of consumers, but win the exclusive <a href=\"http:\/\/admeter.usatoday.com\/\">USA TODAY Ad Meter<\/a> rating, whose winners and losers among the game ads this year will be decided by an online consumer panel. Because of this intense scrutiny, Thompson says, there really are two concurrent, high-stakes games being played on Super Bowl Sunday: one on the field and one during commercial breaks.<\/p>\n<p>This year VW have ditched the Star Wars theme and are taking a new approach:<\/p>\n<div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><object class
