9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micksgarage.com\">MicksGarage.com<\/a> Future Classic Racing Championship returned to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mondello.ie\">Mondello park<\/a> for the famous Leinster Trophy Weekend .A courtesy marquee was setup by the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.futureclassic.eu\"> Future Classic<\/a> organizers with tea, coffee and sandwiches readily available to drivers and guests alike. \u00a0A great atmosphere was enjoyed by all and following qualifying on Saturday a sense of anticipation hung in the air as the time barrier was broken by quite a few cars and the usual front runners were expected to drive from the back of the grid through the field. \u00a0<\/span>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-post-2_a4b2bb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10071 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-post-2_a4b2bb.jpg\" alt=\"Future classic racing\" width=\"5472\" height=\"3648\" \/><\/a>    &nbsp;    <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The race was run in wonderful sunshine to the extent that it was difficult not to be blinded on some parts of the circuit, the barrier breakers didn\u2019t disappoint and quickly drove through the field to take their normal positions and race for the honours. \u00a0A racing incident between William Kellet\u2019s Micra and Tommy Byrne\u2019s Celica brought out the safety car and the field quickly bunched up behind it. \u00a0When the green flag dropped the race to the end was enthralling all the way through the field and hard battles were fought for every position. \u00a0Great performances all round and the race was actually won by the beautifully prepared Alfa 155 of David Owens with Richard Kearney at the wheel.<\/span>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-3_ecb7e9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10061 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-3_ecb7e9.jpg\" alt=\"future classic racing\" width=\"4850\" height=\"3258\" \/><\/a>    <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Top points though were taken by Robbie Parks in the FTO as Richard was not registered in the championship, the points for second went to Adrian Dunne in the rapid Saxo and David Hammond in the giant killing Uno took points for third. \u00a0The rest of the field crossed the finish line hard on their bumpers with less than 20 seconds separating the first 13 cars home.<\/span>    &nbsp;    <strong>Round 9<\/strong>    <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Round nine of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micksgarage.com\">Micksgarage<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futureclassic.eu\">Future Classics<\/a> Race on Sunday was contested in torrential rain and really slippery conditions due to a lot of oil on the track from an earlier race. \u00a0There were some minor unavoidable incidents during the race, the exception being David Owens, who sustaining heavy damage to the MG when he spun directly in front of Tommy Byrne\u2019s Celica whilst Aidan Byrne and Mike Dermody took to the grass to avoid them.<\/span>    &nbsp;    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-4_33bc6a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10081 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-4_33bc6a.jpg\" alt=\"Future Classic racing\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" \/><\/a>    <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Barrier times were not an issue due to the conditions and Ger Byrne, starting from pole in the BMW, got away cleanly and was never threatened for the lead at any point during the race. \u00a0Timothy Duggan in the Seat drove from the back through the field to take second place four seconds behind the BMW and Robbie Parks was third in the FTO a further fifteen seconds behind the Seat and the remaining top ten finishers were only separated by approx. thirty seconds.<\/span>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-7_dc86e5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10121 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.imagetin.com\/images\/micksgarage-ie\/646jk67ggt\/blog-7_dc86e5.jpg\" alt=\"Future Classic Racing \" width=\"2416\" height=\"1364\" \/><\/a>    <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fantastic racing in difficult conditions with the big winner of the day being Timothy Duggan who with one race to spare became the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.micksgarage.com\"> Micksgarage<\/a> Future classics Champion elect. \u00a0Congratulations Timothy on taking the 2016 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micksgarage.com\">MicksGarage.Com <\/a>Future Classic Racing Championship, but the race for second and third is very much up for grabs. \u00a0Aidan Byrne currently holds second place but is only six points ahead of Adrian Dunne and David Hammond who are currently tied for third. \u00a0Round 10 on the 9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> October promises to be a cracker, if it\u2019s as good as previous rounds it\u2019s one not to be missed. \u00a0See you there!!!<\/span>    &nbsp;
