The winner of the new
UK Car of the Year, voted on by more than 27 of the countries top journalists, will be announced at the end of February, just before the change of registration at the start of March.
The overall winner will be selected from a shortlist of more than 100 cars, so competition is likely to be fierce. As well as the overall prize there will also be different category winners, making sure all drivers are catered for - like Small Hatches, Best Family Car, Best Executive Car and Best Estate Car.
Some of the most high profile journalists who are involved are Top Gear's Tom Ford as well as Richard Bremner from WhatCar, but the overall panel of journalists come from all round the UK, making it the most comprehensive panel of judges ever.
John Cullen, editor of ukcoty.co.uk commented "The panel represents every consumer from fleet customers to those towing a caravan, performance enthusiasts and those on a tight budget. It is essential that car-buyers can make an informed opinion when purchasing a new model, and this is what UKCOTY provides.”
