Toyota have announced that they are recalling over 6,000 Avensis cars and 3,800 Rav4 SUVs in Ireland because of a potential problem that could with the suspension after servicing. It's part of a worldwide recall of over 750,000 vehicles.
A quote from Toyota Ireland said
'“The potential problem identified involves the rear suspension arm of the vehicle. If during a maintenance procedure, nuts for adjusting the rear wheel alignment are improperly tightened, it could, over time, lead to free movement between the two portions of the arm'No incidents as a result of the problem have yet being reported in Ireland but it is thought that if the problem exists, then over time it could lead to an abnormal knocking noise while driving and affect the handling of the vehicle.
The effected cars are those manufactured between November 2008 and January 2011 in the case of the Avensis cars, and Rav4s built between November 2005 and August 2010.
