If you read any of the motoring press at all you cant help but have noticed the hype surrounding the new Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ. The media frenzy surrounding these 2 near identical cars is largely because of the absolutely huge cult following for the old Toyota Ae86 from the 80's, it's a following which dwarfs that of cars like the mk2 escort or Austin Mini for example. Part of the appeal of the new car is that it follows the same formula as the original: front engined, four cylinder, normally aspirated, rear wheel drive and most importantly, affordable.
Another huge selling point for this car, i believe, is like the original it is absolutely crying out to be tuned. Already videos of turbocharged, winged and stickered GT86's are cropping up on YouTube. And lets be honest, this can only be a good thing because the styling is not exactly awe inspiring.
