We all know car models add a few inches and get a little bigger with each year and design iteration that passes, much like many of us here in the office.
Therefore I guess we shouldn't be too surprised to see a
saloon version of the Audi A3. Last week, Audi released a video of the new A3 Saloon (or Sedan for our cousins on the other side of the Atlantic). Aimed primarily at the US and Chinese markets where saloons are still the preferred optio carrying a little more kudos over hatchbacks or estates, we assume this Audi A3 version will fill a gap between the A3 Sportback and the lower end A4 saloons.
The saloon version is an addition to the range of existing standard, Sportback and Cabriolet versions of the A3, and is available with the usual A3 extras, as well as coming in an S version with Audi's Quattro system.
The A3 Saloon will be available in Europe later this year, and may open up an otherwise untapped market for premium small saloons.
