MicksGarage Stars & Their Cars in Aid of BUMBLEance

Since 2017 we have been working alongside BUMBLEance, helping them raise much needed funds. BUMBLEance is a charity dedicated to helping sick children get from A to B in the most comfortable fashion. BUMBLEance is the official Children’s National Ambulance Service of Ireland. They provide safe and comfortable transportation for Ireland’s youngest patients as they travel between their homes and hospitals, hospices, treatment centres, and respite centres nationwide. BUMBLEance knows how stressful it is to transport a sick child and aim to support families every step of the way, with the comfort and safety of the children as their number one priority. BUMBLEance vehicles provide young passengers with movies, toys and most importantly it supplies a good sense of company for the sick children.

To show our support to this great cause we have sponsored their 2019 calendar. We’ve also launched a new “Stars and their cars” blog series, asking some of Irelands biggest celebrities a range of car related questions. For each response, we receive we will be making an additional donation to BUMBLEance! From GAA stars to comedians, we have a wide range of people we all love to see playing and performing who have agreed to take part so far. We will be starting off the series with GAA Star and all Ireland winning captain Declan Hannon. Following on from him we have Hector Ó hEochagáin in the hot seat answering our questions, with our third instalment coming from former Cork camogie star Anna Geary. That is just a taste of what is to come, with plenty more stars lined up to partake for this brilliant cause.

This service was set up by Tony and Mary Heffernan. Originally setting up the Saoirse foundation after losing their daughter to Battens disease, the couple tragically lost their son, Liam to the rare disease as well. The Saoirse foundation has growth rapidly branching off into their BUMBLEance initiative now. Their story really struck a chord with us, which is the reason we wanted to get on board to help raise much-needed funds. The majority of our staff members have their own kids, so a group that provides such an incredible service for young children was the perfect fit for us to pick as our partner charity.

Along with the BUMBLEance calendar, we are also donating a percentage of the profits from our great value range of creative kids headphones. For every pair, we sell we will be donating a percentage of the profits, so this is a great opportunity to do your bit for charity while picking up a bargain stocking stuffer in the process.
