This famous route encompasses 170Km of country roads through the beautiful Irish countryside. You begin and finish in picturesque Killarney which makes it ideal for those staying in the town on holidays. The ring covers towns such as Kenmare, Sneem, Watervill, Cahersiveen and Kilorglin amongst others. This would be ideal for any visiting tourists or even people on a weekend away. Lets just hope the weather stays fine for it!
The Sally Gap and the Wicklow Gap are the two routes that cross the Wicklow mountains from East to West. They are hugely important to the county for both logistics and attracting tourists. The Wicklow Gap spans 26Km and most people will choose to do both in the one trip.If you are lucky you will be able to drive through the snow-capped mountains while the sun is shining!!
This 140Km coastal route spans along the Californian coast overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. There are several notable pitstops along the way that will lengthen the trip and most people choose to take a couple of days to fully savour the views. It is universally accepted as one of the most famous road trips in the United States.
Perhaps the most famous bridge in the world allows you to drive 270m in the air giving a breathtaking view of the River Tarn and the surrounding areas. The bridge spans almost 2.5Km which gives you just enough time to truly appreciate the engineering masterpiece. The area surrounding Millau is picturesque and would make for a perfect day-trip on your holidays.
The iconic Grand Prix where Ayrton Senna announced himself to the world is open to the general public for the majority of the year and while you will be doing it at a snail's pace in comparison you can still enjoy the experience. The markings from the GP are visible year round and you will recognise the majority of the route including the famous tunnel. The fastest lap was set in 2006 during qualifying by Kimi Raikkonen who completed the circuit in 1m13.5s.
