This is the second massive recall for the car manufacturer Toyota in as many months. This recall is due to possibly faulty steering mechanisms and its hybrid system water pump.
There are 1.5 Million cars being recalled in Japan along with 670,000 in the United States and almost 500,000 in Europe. These cars will have their steering intermediate extension shafts corrected which can become damaged at slow speeds. This problem predominately affects the second generation Prius and some Corolla models and will take the guts of an hour to fix.
If that wasn't bad enough Toyota are also recalling 630,000 cars worldwide to fix the water pump. 75,000 of these affected cars are based in the United Kingdom.
If your car is one of those affected then you will receive a letter requesting you to visit your local garage in the next 6 weeks but you can check
here on the Toyota website by entering your car registration to see if you are one of those unlucky ones.
This is another embarrassing setback for the once reliable and trustworthy firm, will their dedicated customer base begin to look elsewhere now?
