As you know we love our speed here in MicksGarage and this recent feat by a group of Dutch students really did stand out to us! 0-60mph is the international unit of measurement for quickness and it has been smashed by a talented group of students and their homemade electric car - pretty impressive by all counts!
The group from Delft University of Technology completed the 0-60mph sprint in just 2.15 seconds, enough to crush the previous record for an electric vehicle of 2.68 seconds and even more impressively the fastest production car, the outrageously fast
Ariel Atom V8, which clocked a time of 2.3 seconds in 2010.
Despite putting power to all four tyres through wheel-mounted electric motors good for a combined 135bhp, the DUT12 comes in at a super lightweight 145kg, and that again is one impressive feat! Doorbakken!
