Wall Plugs Available here. Wall plugs are small housings for screws or bolts that are placed into a pre-drilled hole in a wall and are frequently used in home DIY and construction projects. Often known as rawlplugs, wall anchors or expansion plugs, they are made of either plastic or metal and they support screws or bolts in materials such as drywall or masonry, where additional security and grip is required from the screw. When a screw is inserted into a wall plug, the wall plug housing expands which then tightly wedges into the drywall, more so than a screw would without a wall plug. This secure anchor point then creates a steady point to hang things like pictures, shelves or other fixtures. Plasterboard wall plugs and masonry wall plugs protect the wall from being damaged because they evenly distribute the weight of the object being fixed to the wall. Using wall plugs is the best way to ensure stability, protection and security for your DIY project, and it is also straightforward to remove a wall plug.
